Regional telecommunications provider LIME has welcomed multi-Grammy Award winning recording artiste Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley, son of the musical legend Bob Marley, as its newest brand ambassador.

In a ‘hortical’ press briefing hosted at the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston on February 8, just two days after the anniversary of Bob Marley’s birthday, LIME Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Dehring made the announcement that as part of the company’s association with the international reggae star, LIME customers will be the first to access a series of projects and a highly anticipated new album set to be released by the singer.

“There is no doubt that this will be a very special partnership” said Dehring, “We are extremely pleased to announce that LIME customers across the region will be the first to hear new music, see exclusive content and follow Damian on his journey to producing his new album via our mobile internet and television portals.”

“This is the digital age, and so as more persons begin to depend on an electronic device for both their business and entertainment needs, this move is particularly strategic for us as we continue to position ourselves as the premier provider of entertainment content in the region” the CMO said.

Damian, in commenting on the partnership, said “We are the leaders of something new and I am very pleased at the possibilities that exist through this partnership with LIME”.

Donning the brand new Apple iPhone 4S from LIME, the artiste expressed his appreciation to the company saying: “Give thanks to the people at LIME for taking this adventure with us, and I am looking forward to connecting with my fans on an even greater level through this space”.

The two-year partnership will see LIME customers accessing exclusive content, previews and videos from ‘Junior Gong’ through a special web portal http://limeportal.ogangi.com developed for smartphones and other mobile devices on the LIME network. The artiste will also make special appearances at LIME events and across the region stores throughout the period.

Topping off the event, members of the media and other special guests were treated to a preview of Damian’s latest music video & single titled “Affairs of the Heart” which will be released to LIME customers on Valentine’s Day (February14) and to the rest of the world on February 16.
